iPhone DevCamp Dublin & Belfast
Events January 27th, 2009The intrepid guys up in the North have been kicking around the idea of an iPhone DevCamp for hose interested in learning how to develop for the platform. I think this is a great idea and if you want to get involved in the discussion and planning process then head over to xcake.org and jump into the conversation about the DevCamp there. Or leave your thoughts in the comments and I’ll pass them on. I think it’s a great idea and would love to see more people support it.
Matt Johnston of the Digital Circle brought this to my attention and is one of the main motivators in making it happen. in case you don’t know who he is does similar work to my role for the Digital Media Forum focusing on Northern Ireland. Matt is also a involved in Infurious who build a comic app for the iPhone.
If you’re interested in attending an event like this (but don’t want to really get involved in organising) then please leave a comment below so we can start to get an idea of interest levels.

Hi Anton,
As mentioned on Facebook, I’d be interested in attending an event for would-be iPhone developers. (I’m a professional developer, but I have no previous experience of development on Apple platforms.)
Ciao,
Kevin.

Yep, count me in as well. I’m a professional iPhone developer and it’d be good to meet other iPhone devs in Ireland…

I’m up for it – totally new to to the whole thing so hope it has a bit of a focus for those who’ve fallen off the M$ wagon!

Sounds interesting!
We’re doing iPhone Development in Playfirst International’s new office in Dublin. We’ve recently published our first title on the App Store (Wedding Dash), with lots more to come.
I’m responsible for the engineering side of things here and I’d be happy to do a short presentation on our experience if that would help.

So, let’s set a date.
Pick a night in Feb and I’ll see if I can make it down and drag a couple of folk south!

We’re considering adding iPhone development to our activities and I’d be interested in attending. We’ve a lot of content production experience but none in development so curious about partnering with those who do.

Anytime after the 19th Feb would suit me. What about Sat 21st? Guessing it would be easier for people to get down from the north on a Saturday?

I’d be interested in attending this. I haven’t done any iphone development but I’m learning cocoa at the moment.
Are there any mac/cocoa/iphone developer user groups in Ireland at the moment?
