It’s a great sign to see these conferences coming to Ireland. Ruby and Python though? My PHP and Zend colleagues might get worried

I always appreciate events that end on a Friday – the Saturday then becomes essential networking time with different agendas and possibilities for more creative events and unconferences.
Added to the diary.

@Enda and Padraic
Absolutely guys, always good to have things with a good reputation coming to Ireland.
@David
I may be helping them with the after-party on the Friday night too. So it should be good fun.

“UK Contrast”… We have a British branch, it seems. Cool.
Seriously, though. This is going to be really big and have a massive impact on the local scene. I admire Ryan for seeing the demand for this in Ireland and acting on it. I hope it’s a profitable venture for him so FOWA (and others) come back many times again.

@eoghan Haha Sorry that’s straight out of Ryans email. Corrected now.
Agreed that this could be something quite big for the Irish scene. The fact that Ryan has an interest in, and is drawing on, local expertise is fantastic as well.

@Pádraic – I think different approaches to web dev are good, there’s always something to learn from other technologies – the day you start to think you know everything is the day you fall behind – especially in web dev.
I’m looking forward to hearing DHH & Simon Willison speak.
It’s awesome to see the Contrast lads being asked to present. They’re a great team and have worked tirelessly the past year.
